It is believed that instead of having a restrictive diet one should have a controlled diet. A controlled diet is considered to be more effective. Here is some information that will break your myths about diets and the type of food you are consuming. It will also show statistics about things we consider health in comparison to things, which are not healthy.
1: Vitamin Water
We understand the attraction of such a product, as it looks very fancy. However, it is important to note whether vitamin water is beneficial. The two things that water should be providing are hydration and essential vitamins. Therefore, a combination of these two advertised looks appealing but it is far from reality. This fancy vitamin water has more calories and sugar than a normal water bottle and some fruits.
2: Obesity is at it again
This is a trending topic every year, and every year something else is blamed. Once it was fats then another time it was sugar. However, nobody else is to be blamed except for us. We are in control of what we consume. If we are consuming more sugar, more fat or more carbs then it is our fault.
3: Healthy crisps
Chips or crisps whatever you want to call them they are a weakness for all. One of the first snack items that we let go of once we start dieting is crisp, and we take up a healthy alternative of it. Which is, funnily enough, more expensive and has more calories in it. But it is healthy therefore we buy it regardless of the cost.
4: Wine Wine
See wine is not bad for you; it is healthy. It can easily become a part of your diet. Wine consumption daily for a month is equal to 18 McDonald’s cheeseburgers or if you are a chocolate lover than twenty-six Kit Kat chunky. Now you decide which is a healthier option wine, cheeseburgers, or chocolate.
5: Cereal that makes you “slim”?
So let us look at the facts and then pass judgment. According to the results, we can see that a box of Coco pops has 232 calories in total. In comparison to a box that was being sold for slimming you down which has a total of 226 calories. Therefore, the difference between the two is not that significant.
6: Chocolate we love you
Chocolate is a weakness for all of us. It is one of the very first things we deprive our self of once we start dieting. But as you can see if the actual chocolate is consumed instead of its alternative counterparts, then you will be consuming less calories. Therefore, instead of going for options like protein balls go for simple old chocolate.
7: Time for food
Meal prep is a lifesaver. Trust me it allows you to be more efficient, organized and you get to eat healthy as well. When you say, you do not have time for preparing a meal it essentially gives you space to consume not so healthy stuff that too in abundance. So, 15 minutes every day for meal prep can change your life.
8: Food is guilt free
Let’s break the myth that if you were to consume a certain type of food, then you should be guilty after eating it. Some brands like to advertise their products as guilt-free which is good for them, as food should not make us feel guilty. Therefore, eat whatever you want to and do not feel guilty after eating it.
9: Emotion vs. science
See emotional eating is something we all do. When we are upset or stressed out food is our best friend. But the guilt of eating something that you were not supposed to override everything else. However, we need to understand that emotions are not in control of our body weight science is. Think logically and you will be good to go.
10: What to do?
Stop believing myths or theories put forth by your friends. Others opinions tend to override our understanding of what is right and what is wrong? Therefore, we need to do our research before formulating an opinion. Take this picture as an example and see how things look like in reality. Hence do what you think is right for you.
